Parent Communication Matters
Good communication is essential! This
training session is designed to encourage providers to communicate
with the parents in their program in a variety of methods. Participants
will examine different types of parent communication and their function
as a part of a quality program. Problem solving skills are sharpened
while working to practice conflict resolution. This session addresses
and supports proposed NAEYC standard 9 regarding positive relationships
with families.
Creating a Professional Portfolio
to Direct Professional Goals
This training session is designed to provide teachers with tools
to produce a
professional portfolio, develop a professional mission statement
and set professional goals
Sensational Science Stations
Designed to provide teachers with resources and ideas to create
or enrich their science stations, this course helps teachers enable
children to learn a variety of new skills while visiting the science
area. Participants will create and begins to fill a science center
resource binder to assist in future curriculum planning. Addresses
proposed NAEYC standard 5 in the area of curriculum.
Using Portfolios for Classroom Assessment
This training session is designed to provide teachers with tools
to explore and
implement the use of portfolios for students in the classroom.
The Who, What, and Why of Dramatic Play
Learn and have fun at the same time. This training session encourages
providers to increase the options for children through dramatic
play as well as give an understanding of the developmental importance
of this element in the early childhood setting.
Make Your Learning Centers Interesting
This training session is designed to provide teachers with resources
and ideas of
how to enrich their learning centers or discovery areas so the children
in their program
will be excited to visit all the areas not just a favorite.

This training session is designed to provide teachers with an opportunity

Activities as well as provide basic background on identifying skills
that are being taught and which types of activities are developmentally
appropriate for the age group they teach.
Creating Books and Learning Activities From
Bags, Paper and Boxes
This training session is designed
to provide teachers with a variety of techniques they
can use to create fun art projects, enrichments and books using
simple items such as
bags, paper and boxes.
Transitions That Work!
This training session is designed to provide teachers with resources
and ideas of how to use
transitions to help their class flow from one activity to another.
